THE MISSION of the Avoca Main Street is to sustain our downtown district as the economic, cultural, and social center of our community by utilizing the four point approach of the National Main Street Trust.

Avoca Main Street has been a proud Main Street America community since 2014. Main Street America is a nationwide, grass roots movement that blends preservation, activation, and coordination to harness the power of character-based economic growth. The Main Street Method is to inspire and engage property owners, business owners, leaders, the friends and neighbors to create a shared value in the character of the community.
Avoca Main Street is dedicated to enhancing the vitality of downtown Avoca through historic preservation, economic development, and community engagement. Downtown Avoca is home to more than twenty downtown residents and 270 day-time workers, $362,500 in annual private re-invesement into the district, and $37,500 in annual volunteer value. Since 2014, over $2.9 million has been invested in downtown projects and acquisition, 11,676 volunteer hours have gone into programs to attract customers to the district, and the district has net twelve new downtown businesses.
