The Veterans Service Office of Pottawattamie County visits Avoca's Courthouse on the first and third Wednesday of each month to provide assistance in determining eligibility for County, State, and Federal Veterans Benefits.

The services we provide include completion of forms, referrals, follow-up services, assistance as needed, free of charge to veterans and their dependents. Our caseworkers are nationally accredited by the Federal Department of Veteran Affairs.

The Commission of Veteran Affairs Department provides two programs:

Veteran Emergency Assistance, County & State Assistance

Veteran Services, Federal Assistance
