The City of Avoca has contracted with Carley Construction to begin street improvements on Cherry Street between Mill Street and Lyon Street beginning Monday, October 12.

Work will include curb and gutter removal and replacement, partial driveway replacement, street milling and patching, minor subgrade repairs, and a new asphalt overlay.

Residents in the project area: Limited access to individual properties will be maintained as much as possible; however, we strongly encourage residents to make arrangements to park elsewhere during construction working hours. Alleys and nearby side streets are recommended.

After working hours, property access should generally be available except when curb, gutter or driveway work temporarily prevents access.
