Work on the new Public Safety Station is moving right along! Steel erection – the process of assembling and joining steel components to construct buildings, bridges, and other structures – began on August 11th, with masonry work starting the week of August 18th. The main frame has been set, and crews are now installing secondary steel and framed openings.

In the coming weeks, residents can expect to see paving and wall sheeting underway as the project continues to take shape.

PSS Update 08/28
The Avoca Veterans Community Center is currently 60% through its demolition phase. 🚧 We are making great progress on transforming this space into a venue that community members will be proud to use for events and celebrations!

We have received several inquiries about renting the AVCC for special occasions in 2026. However, we are not accepting any bookings at this moment, as there are still essential behind-the-scenes tasks that need to be completed and approved before we can proceed with opening it up to the community for bookings.

We will notify our community when we are ready to start accepting rentals for 2026 and beyond, with the goal of making this available after the start of the new year.
