Due to last night's weather, the private pool party scheduled for June 23rd has been rescheduled to today, June 24th. We appreciate everyone's flexibility and look forward to welcoming the group for a fun evening at the pool!

4th of July festivities are right around the corner. Remember to have fun, stay safe, and abide by the City of Avoca's Fireworks ordinance:
🎆 Consumer Fireworks may only be used during the periods of July 1st to July 7th
🎆 Consumer Fireworks may only be used from the hours of 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM during these permitted days, although this time shall be extended to until 11:00 PM on July 4th of each year.

If you have any issues with community members handling fireworks outside the set allowed times, please contact the Pottawattamie County Police.
Our next Yoga at Edgington Park will be on Saturday, June 27th at 8:00 AM.
There is a $10 registration fee per session. While we encourage participants to sign up in advance, day-of registration and payment will also be accepted.

🌿 One of the key areas of focus for Avoca's Culture & Recreation Board is the continued care and maintenance of Graceland Cemetery.
Following discussions this past winter, the decision was made to bring cemetery grounds maintenance back in-house under the direction of our Public Works Department after the service was contracted out during the previous season.
This transition allows for greater oversight, consistency, and care as we work to keep Graceland Cemetery a beautiful and respectful place for families to honor and remember their loved ones.
A special thank you to our Public Works team for their hard work and dedication to maintaining this important community space. Your efforts help preserve the beauty and dignity of Graceland Cemetery for all who visit. 💚🍃

Pre-paid punch cards are now available at City Hall during our normal business hours of 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday! 🎟️☀️
These punch cards are a convenient way to enjoy multiple visits to the pool all season long without having to pay for a full membership. Also, our concessions punch card are easy for kiddos to purchase items from our concession stand without having to handle money!

Join us on the evening of August 20th at the Pottawattamie Fairgrounds! In collaboration with the Pottawattamie Fair and their monthly summer food truck night, we're adding even more fun to celebrate the end of summer:
• Foam Canon Fun (Starting @ 5:30 PM): This foam-filled event will have your kiddos never wanting the night to end!
• Avoca's Outdoor Cinema (Starting @ Dusk): End the evening with a cozy movie night under the stars. Bring your blankets and chairs for a relaxing experience!
This event is open to everyone and admission is free!
