The City of Avoca is committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and attractive community for all residents, businesses, and visitors. As part of this effort, the City is implementing a renewed and consistent Nuisance Abatement and Code Enforcement Program. All residents should have received a courtesy notice in the mail to inform all households of common nuisance violations and to provide advance notice of increased enforcement.
❗ While the City has historically addressed nuisance concerns, full and consistent enforcement will begin July 1, 2026.
Please ensure your property is ready for visitors to our community with Mother's Day, Graduation, Memorial Day Weekend, Father's Day, Farmers Market, AvocaDays (July 3-5), Labor Day Weekend and all Summer festivities in mind. All residents/property owners are encouraged to assess your properties for enforceable nuisances as strict enforcement begins July 1, 2026. Taking proactive steps now will help avoid future enforcement actions.
