📣 Construction Alert
Our Highway 59 construction project is officially in the works! In close partnership with the Iowa Department of Transportation (IDOT), this multi-year project is scheduled to begin in Spring 2027.
🚧 The north project (Phase 1) is currently in final design with no Right Of Way impacts anticipated.
🚧 The south project (Phase 2) is nearly ready to be sent to the ROW office, with a couple of properties expected to have impacts. We will continue keeping the community informed as the project progresses.
IDOT and the City will also host pre-construction meetings and extend invitations to the school, city staff, county officials, county law enforcement (Pottawattamie and Shelby Counties), animal control, fire/rescue, and other impacted partners.
IDOT has also created a project website with detailed information, updates, and resources related to the project. The site includes an option to sign up for notifications whenever new information is posted.
