🚨 SNOW EMERGENCY DECLARED FOR THE CITY OF AVOCA 🚨
The City of Avoca has declared a Snow Emergency beginning today, Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. continuing until Saturday, February 21 at 3:00 p.m.
This snow emergency is being declared in advance of the predicted winter storm to ensure vehicles can be moved off the appropriate sides of the street and allow our Public Works team to plow safely and efficiently.
We understand this may cause inconveniences. The intent of this early declaration and the city's parking and sidewalk clearing code is to clear streets and walking paths as quickly and safely as possible for emergency services, school transportation, pedestrians, travelers and the general public.
🚗 IMPORTANT: Vehicles WILL BE TOWED at the owner's expense if snow emergency parking regulations are not followed.
📄 For more information, including the City's Snow Emergency Ordinance and Chapters 4.27, 5.6(p), and 6.8(j), please visit: cityofavoca.com/page/city-ordinances (scroll down page to appropriate link).
Should the Snow Emergency be extended, we will notify you on social media and through our alert system.
